Dogbone Torque Wrench Adaptor Set

This tool set helps you torque the cylinder nuts and head bolts on 1936-1984 Harley-Davidson Big Twins (Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead), as well as on 1954-1985 Sportsters (K-model and Ironhead).  It comes in a set of three different sizes, 7/16, 9/16, and 5/8, which are the three most common sizes.

They are made out of AR500 steel, which is a super tough alloy that is commonly used for armor plating and shooting targets.  AR500 has the added benefit of being corrosion resistant. I came up with this tool while rebuilding my shovelhead and having trouble getting a torque wrench on the cylinder and head fasteners.

Using this tool at a 90 degree angle to your torque wrench will result in a negligible change to the torque applied, well within the accuracy of the torque wrench.
